New year, new visual identity, new building, new signage. What a combination! To see how visual identity takes stage in signage and wayfinding system always makes us tear up with joy. And when the brief defined the library as “serious thoughts in an amusing way” we saw the opportunity for the unexpected details. In the surroundings of colourful books and diverse materials, black or white signs were an obvious choice, and the asterisk became an important and recognizable element in wayfinding. Alongside functional signs used for navigating through the library, we scattered different messages, wordplays and book titles in an unexpected places.
